The
National Centre of Applied Electromagnetism (CNEA), Santiago of

CNEA has been designated as the official main venue of the congress.
This institution creates a comfortable convention atmosphere for
all meetings. CNEA is easily accessible for the public transportation,
including non-stop taxi service to and from “Antonio Maceo”
International Airport, as well as to different historical and tourist
places around the city.

5. Currency & Banking
The currency in Cuba is el peso cubano convertible (convertible
Cuban peso) -CUC. Cuban currency notes come in 1-, 3-, 5-, 10-,
20-, 50- and 100-CUC notes. Coins come in 1-, 5-, 10-, 25-, 50-cent,
and 1- and 3-peso pieces denomination. Foreign currency and traveller’s
checks can be exchanged into CUC at banks and other authorized money
exchangers. Credit cards most widely used are VISA, Master Card,
and CABAL not issued in North American banks.
6. Time Difference

7. Electricity
Electrical outlets in Cuba are 110 and 220 volts (AC 60Hz).
8. Climate
The climate in Cuban is characterized by four distinct seasons;
spring, summer, fall, and winter. Cuba in late May is in the end
of spring and the average temperature is generally around 30 - 32
ºC. Participants are encouraged to carry their umbrellas just
in case.

10. Method of Payment
Registration fee should be WAYS of payment paid by one the methods:
- Credit Card (VISA, Master Card, and CABAL not issued in North
American banks.
- Directly in the event.
11. Cancellation Policy
1) Cancellations must be notified in writing to the Congress Organizing
Committee.
2) Cancellations received before April 30, 2009 will incur US$ 80
cancellation fee.
After April 30, 2009 there will be no refund.
3) All refunds will be processed after the congress and all bank
services charges will be deducted from the refunded amount.
12. Letter of Invitation Requirement
Upon request, the Organizing Committee will send a letter of invitation
to assist participants to obtain travel funds or visas. However,
it does not imply any commitment on the part of the Organizing Committee
on providing any financial support. This request will be processed
as a step of registration on the on-line registration system. Please,
click the setter invitation button for request. The letter will
be forwarded to you with confirmation of your registration.
